Themed Studies: Prophecy

Updated: Jun 2

'O Daniel, I have come now to give you insight and understanding' Dan.9:22b

Each month we ponder over specific subjects which may be relevant to us as Christians in our daily and national life. This month we consider a most astounding prophecy taken from the book of Daniel Chapter 9:20-27. Here we read of the angel Gabriel's prophecy given to Daniel. It spans the ages and relates to us in a profound sense the timing of both Messiah's First and Second Coming. The Commentaries give insight on the matter. See link to Biblehub Bible Hub: Search, Read, Study the Bible in Many Languages .

'The Fullness of the Gentile Nations' Rom.11:25

In Romans 11:25-26 we read another outstanding prophecy. Here the apostle Paul says, 'I do not desire, brethren, that you should be ignorant of this mystery,... that blindness in part has happened to Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in. And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written:

"The Deliverer will come out of Zion, and He will turn away ungodliness from Jacob" ' (NKJV). This statement may on first reading appear to have political overtones but in truth it is a theological statement. Here Paul is quoting and explaining the prophecy of Is.59:16-21 of when the rulers of this world meet their end and Christ comes to set up His Kingdom. Hallelujah! Daniel makes reference to this matter (Dan.12:7), and so does Jesus (Luke 21:24b).
